As rare earth compounds China exported 46,534 t in 2024 (+8.6%).The value of China’s rare earth compound exports was US$424 mio in 2024 (-20%).
68% of China’s rare earth compounds export volume were uneconomic lanthanum and cerium compounds.

Exports of rare earth permanent magnets, SmCo and NdFeb, were flat year on year.China exported 58,147 t of rare earth permanent magnets in 2024, after 52,659 t in 2023. Export revenue for these magnets was US$2.9 billion after US$3.2 billion in 2023.
